VT single
Single-axis tracking system
- An increase in yield of over 20 % due to single-axis tracking
- Economical and low-maintenance system thanks to simple basic construction
- Stable system suitable even for typhoon regions
- Optimum yield to floor area ratio due to minimal space requirements
Over 20 % additional yields
As a result of the single-axis tracking and integrated backtracking, over 20 % additional yield can be achieved by the Voltwerk VT single compared to a permanently installed system.
The backtracking algorithm prevents mutual overshadowing of modules when the position of the sun is low. The system works constantly with extreme precision of over 98 % thanks to continuous calculation of the sun’s position based on an astronomical algorithm and the provision of time and position by means of GPS receiver.
The system requires only a slightly larger area than permanently installed systems and can therefore generate maximum yield on a very small area. As a result, its use pays for itself even in regions where land is scarce and expensive.
Economical and low-maintenance
The Voltwerk VT single tracking system has a simple basic construction with only one drive that according to customer wishes moves up to 300 kWp module area. The hot-galvanised construction, the minimum number of moving parts and the use of absolutely low-maintenance plastic bearings requires a minimum maintenance effort over the entire service life.
Its own energy consumption is only about 0.1 % of the annual yield for the entire system. The system is extremely insensitive to faults and does not carry out any unnecessary tracking movements.
Lifelong stability
The Voltwerk VT single is the most stable system of its kind on the market. The Voltwerk VT single can even be used in particularly windy regions thanks to its extremely robust design. The tracking system can operate in normal tracking mode at wind speeds of up to 90 km/h. Using CFD (computer flow dynamics) air-flow simulation, FEM (finite elements method) load analyses and prototype testing, the Voltwerk VT single was already designed during the development phase to reach a service life of 25 years.
Great flexibility
In addition to all commercially available modules, the VT single is also suitable for thin film laminates. The number of rows of frames is flexible and can be adapted to suit local conditions and the desired output.
System-specific monitoring
The power plant is monitored using the Voltwerk central monitoring system SmartControl. In conjunction with the Voltwerk central inverters and Voltwerk junction boxes, Voltwerk is unique in offering the option to monitor all the photovoltaic components using a single system. Among other things, the monitoring system supplies the following information:
- Operational condition of the system (tracking, storm position, maintenance mode)
- Orientation of the system (including target-actual value comparison)
- Fault and status reports down to component level
- Wind speed on site
In this way the monitoring system offers the system operator maximum security and minimum standstill times in the event of faults.
