Accessories tracking system
- The weather station consists of the following components:
- Telescoping mast
- GPS-receiver
- wind speed probe
- Connection box
- Lightning protection rod
Telescoping mast
The telescoping mast has been designed for continuous operation. All materials used have been chosen with corrosion resistance and therefore a high life expectancy in mind. The mast elements are comprise a AlMgSi alloy.
GPS-receiver
The GPS receiver records the exact geographical position as well as the current time and date. The data is being transmitted from the weather station to the monitoring unit SmartControl. From there the data is being transmitted to the motor drive of the tracking system. Based on an astronomical algorithm the precise position of the sun is being determined and the PV modules are oriented accordingly.
Wind speed probe
The wind speed probe allows for the constant monitoring of the wind speed and forwards this information to the monitoring unit SmartControl. There, the data is being forwarded to the motor drives which move the PV modules in case of a storm into the horizontal position. If the wind speed decreases to a certain level, the motor drives continue the normal tracking operation again automatically.
